Frequently Asked Questions

What classes do we offer?

We offer children’s aerial circus classes for 5-16 year olds in Stroud and Cheltenham as well as Holiday Camps and Children’s Birthday Parties.

How much are the classes?

Our child taster sessions are £10 a class. After that you have two options available; a block booking half termly option and a drop-in option.

Our block booking prices prices can be found on our class timetable page.

Our drop-in option works out slightly more expensive however you get the flexibility of booking in your child as and when you would like to fit around other commitments.

Where are your classes held?

Our Stroud Venue is The Loft Space, The Stroud Brewery in Brimscombe GL5 2BY and our Cheltenham Venue is The Drama Suite, Bournside Sports Centre, Cheltenham GL51 3EF

What should my child wear for class?

Please make sure your child is wearing suitable clothing for the class. Leggings, Leotards, Crop top, t-shirt, jogging bottoms are all suitable clothing and bare feet. Please no fashion clothing, shorts or denim jeans to be worn. Please make sure there is also no zips on the trousers as this can rip and damage our aerial silks and hammocks.

Please make sure long hair is tied up and no jewellery to be worn for class. If its not possible to take stud earrings out please tap over them for the duration of class.

Please remember to bring a drink to class.

Is there Parking onsite?

Yes there is plenty of parking onsite.

Are there changing areas?

There are no changing rooms at The Stroud Brewery only toilets. However there are changing facilities at Bournside Sports Centre.

My child is really nervous about attending class, can you help?

If your child is trying out our classes for the first time it is normal that they might be feeling a bit anxious about starting. All our children in class are very supportive and encouraging of new starters. We normally buddy up new starters with someone in class that has been coming for a while. This way your child will have extra support and a friend to help them through their first few classes.

How many children are in class?

Our regular children’s group classes are capped by the number of aerial rigging points available. We want to ensure the quality of our classes and teaching standards are high and your child’s teacher’s attention is equally available to all students during our classes.

We therefore only allow a maximum of 14 children in class.

Each class has an Instructor and either 1 or 2 assistants depending on the number of children currently in the class.

Can I watch my child attend the class?

Unfortunately we don’t allow spectators to watch during the term as we find it distracts the children too much. We do however have a parent’s watching day at the end of every term where you can come watch and see all the things your child has been working on throughout the term. We also have a private fb page for parents where weekly photos get put up of the moves we work on each week (if permission has been given).

As I can’t watch the class is there somewhere I can sit and wait whilst my child is in class?

Yes there is at The Stroud Brewery there is a café/bar downstairs where you can sit and get a coffee/cake/beer etc whilst you wait for your child to finish class.

There is no café area unfortunately at Bournside Sports Centre however there is an outside popup serving coffees and teas.

Will my child get bruises from aerial circus classes?

Due to the nature of the class your child might bruise from the equipment. This is why we recommend that your child wears leggings and not shorts to protect the backs of the legs from getting friction burns from the aerial hoop. We also recommend having the lower back covered to avoid fabric burns/ friction from the aerial silks/hammocks.

How do I book a Taster Session?

The Tasters should be Live to book through the online calendar. Just scroll down to the relevant date and time of class. If you can’t see a taster class available feel free to send us a message and we will let you know if one if available for that session. Unfortunately we don’t allow new starters on the last day of term due to this class being Parents watching day.

I’m struggling to sign up using TeamUp, what should I do?

If you are confused on how to book into classes or finding the booking system a bit clunky, or you’re unsure about how to set up an account, please see these TeamUp help pages.
