Cirque du Dance offers Aerial Circus Classes and Parties for children aged 5+ in Stroud and Cheltenham.
We also offer Adult Classes and Parties.
We specialise in mixed aerial circus consisting of aerial hoop, silks and hammock.
Our classes are run in an informal, friendly and fun environment catering for all types of ability.
Our aim is to encourage confidence, creativity, strength and overall flexibility in all our classes.
About Jodie
Jodie started out her training in gymnastics at the age of 11 where she would compete nationally with her club in Acro competitions. It was here where she found her love for dance having to create movement and sequences for the gymnastic routines she was performing in at competitions. Jodie then spent the next 5 years perfecting her dance studies and in 2003 was offered a Scholarship at an accredited performing arts school in London.
After graduating from Performing Arts School in London Jodie started out her career performing as a professional dancer. Her dancing career allowed her to travel around the world doing what she loved, from dancing in the TV and Film Industry in Bollywood, India to working for various prestigious cruise line companies across the world.
Five years ago Jodie decided to expand her skills and retrained as a professional aerial performer. Where she then continued to perform as an aerial dancer at many events across the UK. She also decided it would be fun to run away with the circus for a while and packed up her bags and joined “Circus Sallai” touring around the UK in 2019.
Jodie always loved teaching, but it wasn’t until lockdown where she had an opportunity to start teaching dance and aerial circus classes to children in Stroud, Gloucestershire. It started with one class a week which quickly developed into multiple classes 3 times a week and soon enough ‘Cirque du Dance’ was born.
Now Cirque du Dance runs dance and aerial circus classes in Stroud and Cheltenham well as running children’s holiday camps and Birthday Parties In Stroud, Cheltenham and Gloucester.
